ABOUT
PROTECT THE TAMAR

We are a group of community minded and environmentally conscious individuals who care deeply about the health of kanamaluka/Tamar estuary, the residents living alongside it, and the local wildlife depending on it's conservation.

OUR MISSION & APPROACH

Protecting kanamaluka/ Tamar estuary and it's surrounding environment is at the heart of our mission. Our approach involves community engagement, environmental research, and advocacy to ensure the long-term health and sustainability of kanamaluka/Tamar estuary. We are dedicated to making a positive impact and preserving the natural beauty of Australia's longest estuary and it's vital ecosystem.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We believe collaboration will be the key to conserving the Tamar. We want all 3 councils situated along kanamaluka/Tamar estuary to work together on issues impacting the estuary and it's surrounding environment and residents. We want to connect the communities who live within Launceston, West Tamar, and George Town to best conserve and celebrate our environment and wildlife. We strive to work closely with local residents and businesses to implement effective conservation advocacy. Together, we want to protect and enhance the kanamaluka/Tamar estuary and the Tamar Valley for the benefit of current and future generations.
